Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has urged her followers to embrace financial discipline by saving, planning and reinvesting in themselves and their work.

Akindele gave the advice in a post on Instagram following her appearance at the FIN Tribe Finance Fair 2026, where she said she was reminded of the importance of managing money responsibly.

“Discipline is key to success in your finances, your career and everything you do,” she wrote.

Reflecting on the importance of financial planning, the actress stressed that people should avoid spending all their earnings, noting that saving and reinvesting were essential for long-term financial stability.

“As we say, you cannot eat with all ten fingers! You have to save, plan and reinvest in yourself and your work,” she added.

Akindele acknowledged that maintaining financial discipline could be challenging but encouraged her followers to develop the habit by starting with small, deliberate steps.

She advised them to determine how much they intended to save, reinvest and spend before making financial commitments.

“Give your money a purpose, and keep practising that habit,” she said.

The filmmaker also spoke about her personal experience with money management, admitting that she did not always get things right but remained committed to being intentional about how she handled her earnings.

“I work hard, and I have to be intentional about managing what I earn. I don’t always get it right, but I keep making the effort,” she wrote.

She concluded by encouraging people who might have made poor financial decisions in the past not to dwell on them but to begin making better choices.

Urging her followers to prioritise their future while enjoying the present, Akindele said: “It’s time to brace up. Save. Reinvest. Spend wisely. Love yourself enough to think about your future, even as you enjoy the present.”

She described the message as a reminder for everyone to take greater responsibility for their financial well-being.
